Ed gives a workshop on fluid flow to team Waforte:

  • Laminar flow and high Reynolds number: Discusses the relationship between laminar flow and Reynolds number, emphasizing that high Reynolds numbers disrupt laminar flow.

  • Experimentation with nozzles: Recommends experimenting with different nozzle configurations to understand what creates good flow.

  • Importance of knowing parts: Stresses the importance of knowing the names and functions of various parts like elbows and hose barbs for effective assembly and communication.

  • Characteristics of parts: Details on different parts such as female-to-female elbows, hose barbs, and their specific characteristics like size and threading.

  • Flow dynamics: Explains how the flow differs based on nozzle size and configuration, comparing it to electrical resistance.

  • Interdisciplinary equations: Highlights how similar equations describe behaviors in different systems like water flow, heat transfer, and mechanical systems.

  • Practical applications: Discusses practical applications like cutting with high-pressure water jets

  • Total Internal Reflection of Laser:

    Team meeting- The Right boys:

The simplest bomb drop is to set up a servo to pull a rod that releases a rubber band and anything under the rubber band drops off the plane. This design is easy to add to an existing plane. It is easy to set up and quick to reload, cheap and light.

Suggest using confetti instead of water balloons.

Water balloons may be too heavy and cause weight issues- would need to be balanced

Unless planes are flown quite high, the time over a target will only be a fraction of a second

RC control must be able to control multiple servos at once.

Huskylens camera might be a camera option, controlled by a Arduino Nano or other small form factor microcontroller.
